Before I answer that question for this entry, let me just tell you that this blog is still under construction. There’s still some housecleaning to do, little things I want to fix and tweak to make it to my liking above all. So bear with me on that as I learn the ropes of using WordPress, because I’m not as skilled with it as I’d like to be. That said, I love learning so I look forward to educating myself to get there. Now let’s get onto that persnickety question you see up there.
I’m not going to pretend I’m any sort of special breed in this world. After all, there are likely millions of blogs you could be reading right now or probably subscribe to at the moment. The fact that you’re reading mine makes me think I should tell you more about myself. That way, you at least have an idea of whose blatherings you’re currently reading now (and hopefully going forward).
My name is Mark, which you may have worked out by the blog title and that little logo up there. I live on the east coast of the United States, and have been a geek most of my life. I love technology. I love talking about it, as you would see on my Mastodon account. I primarily lean heavily into the Apple ecosystem with two iPads, Apple TV 4K, iPhone, and my new M4 Mac Mini as well as my MacBook Pro. I do not have a political leaning, because I feel like supporting a politician is like thinking the stripper at the club is interested in you.
I have a Communications degree, which is focused primarily on Public Relations, which I attained from an excellent college in New Hampshire. I used to be a somewhat avid gamer, having all three of the current gen consoles. (Though were my Xbox Series X able to speak, it would beg to differ. That’s a story for another time.) I read constantly, and you’ll find I am between at least 2 books at a time on any given day of the week.
So now the question becomes why am I doing this? And why should you care? My goal for this blog is to hopefully enlighten and entertain those who read it. I always strive to be that friend who when people hear a different opinion, it makes them reconsider theirs. You don’t know me well enough yet to be at that point, but hopefully if something I discuss here doesn’t jive with your opinion, you’ll at least hear me out because I will always do the same for you.
The question I started with is why should you care? Right now, you probably don’t. But if you give me enough time, I hope to change that. You’re going to hear a lot of opinions from me here as time goes by. (At least for a year since I’ve already bought the service and domain!) So maybe we can learn and grow together, because every day I want to be a little more enlightened than I was the day prior.
And maybe. Just maybe. We can achieve that together.
